Livinia and her bestest friend Leilani
and soaking up all the good parts, that true friends add to my life and the life of my children. The amazing love, support and LAUGHTER of a true friend is so precious. I feel so blessed to have a couple of these kinds of friendships in my life and I really hope that my children find them too.
Choosing to let go of the negative, hurtful ones. It's just the way it is isn't it?? Probably doesn't help that I am a girl (ten points there for nasty!) and also have worked in a creative industry for years (yep that gives you another ten points!). Negotiating friendships in a competitive industry is interesting to say the least.
Before you all assume something drastic has happened (which it hasn't) I am really just thinking about it all.... and working through why some people are nasty and some are lovely. There is no answer of course, but just to become a better at friendships myself.
Remember that birthday, phone first for a change, answer that email NOW, send a card, make sure they know they are appreciated.... my friends know me so well, and they expect me to be bad at this stuff :) and they love me anyway.
If you could give your child one little advice on friendships (or yourself1) what would it be??
