My little piece of advice would be - Be the kind of friend you would like to have. And probably accept people for who they are too, because I think we would all like that!!

Interesting blog topic

Find friends who value developing real depth and understanding in the relationship over 'winning' disagreements. One of you might win the argument, but both of you are likely to lose the friendship.

Realise that some of your most beneficial friendships may not be life long, they may last a short time but teach you a lot, and that's ok. Somewhere in your life you find at least one person that will be there for you no matter what even if you don't talk every day or even every month. So I guess my lesson is friendships come in different shapes and sizes and even from the most unexpected places.

I've always told my daughter to be friends with everyone. It's nice to be really good friends with one or two, but if things turn sour it's nice to know you have other friends to lean on. Kind of like "don't put all your eggs in one basket".

Treat others the way that you would like to be treated... and boy is that easier said than done!!!!

I like reading your topic about friends etc.
I think that is important to continue to make new friends as well as nuture the old friendships.
