Seems like a perfect day to be thankful for friends. I have a lovely handful of very close, very faithful, very amazing friends. Girls that are strong, capable, intelligent, creative, fun and true. Yep today is a day to celebrate friendships.
Today I decided to try my hand at image transfer using acrylic paint. While attending the Donna Downey classes we were introduced to this technique and I loved it. No fancy mediums, just paint! AWESOME
So I grabbed a lovely page from my Frankie magazine, my index card and the paint. I covered the index card with paint and added the paper on top - with the image I wanted to transfer FACE DOWN.
I let it dry (with the aid of my trusty heat gun) and gave it a good burnish all over.
Once that was down I wet it down liberally and began to rub the paper away.... and the PRINT stays on your card!! CLEVER STUFF
then I brushed over a milky wash that I added a little green into. So it looked lovely and minty!
Then was the fun part of the morning ..... I grabbed ultra fine glitter instead of embossing powder.... um , yep. AND I didn't even notice till i took the heat gun to it and it blew all over me, all over my desk and all over EVERYTHING!!!! yep, I'm funny huh?
Once I semi recovered from that, I DID manage to find some semi opaque embossing powder and layered that onto the card. Covered most of it, and melted it smooth.
Then I scrunched it all up, allowing it to crack and peel.
Then added green water colour paint, which seeped into the cracks.
Then more paint was splodged around.
and a new Tim Holtz stamp added
I backed the whole lot onto another piece of cardstock as it was looking pretty ratty around the edges.... I sewed it in place.
Then finally I found a quote I liked about friends, and it was done.
Finished for another day.
I am already looking forward to creating tomorrow.

More beautiful-ness!
Whoops about your glitter adventure!!
