I walked my girls to school yesterday, something we don't do and we really should :) It's quite a pleasant walk, a steady incline and takes the girls about 18 mins ..... much quicker just me on my own though.
So as we walked, I started to think about what my page would be about. The girls were chattering about how it was good weather for walking, no heat just a gentle crispness in the air. We decided we love Autumn.
Lots of changes going on around here. Me not being able to work at preschool for weeks, changes in the way we do our homelife to accomodate my re-habilitation. But so many lovely changes too ... more painting, more crafting, more time with my kids. Good Stuff.
So my prompt was changes, I am thankful for the changes both in the weather and in my life right now.
The first thing I found while rummaging through a forgotten pile of stamps (which now have a new home on Lilli's desk) is my 7 Gypsies black wax parisian seals..... ohhhhhhh pretty!! and then upon further digging a magnetic stamp set from Making memories which hasn't seen the light of day in my craft room for years. Oh yes, I needed to use these!!!
After a quick wash over with white paint, I grabbed some masking tape and layered it down, then painted over the top with a very bold orange!! before it had a change to dry I ripped up the tape.
Then out came my Maya Mist and a Tim Holtz mask to create the time image. I loved how the nozzle was a big clogged so I got some really big drips (it also made a mess everywhere else!)
Of course it still needed more paint.... a dash of lime, and a squirt of cream mist.
ummmm, that looks better!!!!
Next I added was the wax and was seal. I simply lit the wax candle let it drip over the page and concentrated it in a few spots fo I could stamp the seal in it.
A quick stamp in the corner, and the addition of the word "change" using an alphabet set of stamps I have. And it was almost complete.
A tab was added at the top with the word "destination", some stitching, and highlighting the letters with a gel pen.
And I called it done!!
Change is good? yes?

EDITED TO ADD!!!!
I have been collecting lots of the bits and peices of pretty things i have been using in my journal, in a nice little pile on my desk. There are index cards, fabric, vintage paper, dressmakers pattern paper, twine, some gorgeous hand dyed doiles by my clever friend Marg... and lots more.
If you want this little bundle sent to you all you need to do is leave a comment on any of the journal posts I have made, or will make in the next few days. EASY. Hint- it you comment each day you will get 7 chances that this bundle of pretties will be sent to you.
Wow, love the way the change page worked out .... gorgeous use of colour! And yes, change is good.
