This year was the year that Liv finally had her much wished for and anticipated "little leprechaun party". Her birthday falls on St Patrick's day, and 12 months ago when she told me she wanted such a party, i was totally wrapped. I love that she wanted something quirky, I loved that it wasn't another fairy party, I loved that it was just so very her.
12 months to plan, means she had a whole heap of time to think about what she wanted. High on the list was a rainbow cake with gold at the end, a treasure hunt and Irish music playing. Of course everyone wearing green was also a given.
I can honestly say this was the most fun party to organise, even if it was terribly bad timing with my accident and not being able to organise anything in the weeks before.
We played traditional party games, went on a hunt for the treasure the leprechauns had left behind, skipped and jigged to Irish music, ate green jelly, had faces painted with clovers and the most fun part of all .... we set up a big canvas for all the children to paint a rainbow for Liv's room. It was so much fun.
Liv proclaimed it "the best party ever mumma"..... and I was so very glad!
